Believers House of Worship International Chief Pastor Reverend Abraham Lamptey has accused US media giant Cable News Network (CNN) of running a program to prevent the passage of an anti- LGBTQ + to the detriment of coverage of development projects.
As the Ghanaian Parliament is set to debate the now controversial bill, Rev. Lamptey believes CNN is determined to lead a campaign for the granting of gay rights in Ghana.
According to him, CNN is focusing more on imposing “a disorderly mission in our peaceful culture”, although the African continent instead begs for more development.
Reverend Abraham Lamptey, in a recent video available on GhanaWeb, described Kenya-born CNN reporter Larry Madowo as a disgrace to Africa.
He said, “You’re not talking about roads that aren’t built, you’re talking about LGBTQ +. Do we need it, will it put food on our table? Guy, Larry, you are a disgrace to Africa. It was as if they had written down the questions to ask him, you didn’t do any research before coming in to ask your questions.
“And by the way, CNN, we have places to develop, maybe you haven’t noticed. Come work there and let the world know that we don’t need men to sleep with men, ”he added.
“It may be your mission, but do not bring your messy mission into our peaceful culture,” added Rev. Abraham Lamptey.
The preacher also praised the efforts of MP Sam Nartey George for standing out and addressing issues regarding the bill.
“I want to salute Sam George, he’s a lion, and you don’t have to wear a clerical color to have a human conscience. We greet you and continue to pray for you, ”noted the preacher.
