Hyderabad: The commission appointed by the SC interviewed Dr G Naveen Kumar, who initially treated the two cops who were injured in the alleged attack by the four cases of rape and murder of Disha accused in the exchange of gunfire in Chattanpally on December 6, 2019 on the nature of the injuries sustained by the two cops and the treatment offered to them.
In his affidavit submitted to the commission, Dr Naveen Kumar, who was working at the Shadnagar Community Health Center (CSC) when the alleged encounter took place, said the injured cops SI Venkateshwarulu and Police Chief Aravind Goud were unconscious when brought to CHC.
However, during his testimony, the witness mentioned that although he referred them to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) for treatment, the injured cops wanted to be referred to Care Hospital. When the commission reminded him of the unconscious state of the two cops, Dr Naveen Kumar responded by saying that after his first aid the two injured cops regained consciousness and that they asked, along with the two cops accompanying them. , a transfer to the private hospital. .
Naveen Kumar said he bandaged Venkateshwarulu’s wounds and gave him pain reliever and a tetanus vaccine.
According to the doctor, Venkateshwarulu suffered a 2 cm long abrasion and laceration on his forehead. The commission lawyer then pointed out the difference between the details relating to the injury of the SI mentioned in the diary of the Hospital Medico Legal Case (MLC) (2 cm) and the certificate of injury (3 cm x 1 cm). The witness said he completed the details of the injury certificate based on records from the private hospital where the victim was referred. However, after checking the private hospital record, Naveen Kumar said that there, too, it was mentioned as 2cm. The doctor agreed that some of the entries relating to Aravind Goud were deleted from the MLC register, but did not acknowledge that the entry relating to Venkateshwarulu appeared to be in a different ink.
While answering questions about how the two cops were brought to the CHC, the doctor first said they were brought in in a wheelchair and then said they were brought by two cops on a stretcher . Subsequently, he said that by the time he attended to them, the injured were in the emergency department and he stopped the bleeding from Venkateshwarulu’s 1cm deep wound by applying pressure. , but it was not mentioned in his statement.
