Name the 16 drivers who finished the 2006 San Marino Grand Prix

The Emilia-Romagna GP at Imola is next for Formula 1, but of course that track was holding grand prix under a different name.

After Imola hosted the Italian Grand Prix for the first and only time in 1980, it quickly found its place in the Formula 1 calendar beyond that year as the San Marino Grand Prix.

The San Marino GP started in 1981 and from then on the event was held every year until 2006.

It wasn’t until 2020 that this famous venue returned to Formula 1, with the series expected to fill spaces on a shorter rebuilt schedule as the global pandemic took hold.

Now Imola hosts the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, which will return in 2022 for its third edition after it was announced that Imola had reached an agreement to remain on the Formula 1 calendar until 2025.

But before we fully focus on the future, let’s see how well you know your Imola story.

Twenty-two drivers started the last San Marino Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2006 and of these, 16 raced to the checkered flag.

So, with eight minutes on your side, we’re waiting for you to name the 16 drivers who finished the 26th and final stage of the San Marino Grand Prix.

We’re not complete freaks though – the additional information available to help you on your mission will be the year each of these 16 drivers made their Formula 1 debut.

If the San Marino Grand Prix isn’t exactly your cup of tea, then since we’re not quite out of the Melbourne vibe yet, you might try naming the starting grid for the San Marino Grand Prix Australia 1994.

Additionally, you can try out Sportword – Planet Sport’s version of the five-letter guessing game, with a new Formula 1-related answer to get every day.

But for those who have eliminated those other temptations for now and are ready to take on this quiz, here we go. Good luck! And don’t forget to let us know how you do.
