A recent online survey of Saanich District citizens found that 88% of residents rated their overall quality of life as good or very good.
BC Stats conducted a survey on behalf of Saanich and heard from 870 citizens, more than double the expected response.
The survey was by invitation only and participants were randomly selected by mail to participate online from February 8 to March 29.
When asked about the issue they felt should receive the most attention from Saanich City Council, improving infrastructure was the main concern of respondents.
Residents are looking for improvements to roads and sidewalks, better cycling infrastructure, traffic control, better walking and more.
The survey also found that 81% of participants feel safe driving on the roads of Saanich.
Crime, policing and affordable housing were other areas of concern that residents said require council’s attention in the months and years to come.
