Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies fans have been waiting patiently for Reloaded Season 4, and thankfully, that wait is over. Today, the big mid-season update released for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and it brings many exciting additions to the mode. While the most obvious is the game’s new map, the additions go beyond the launch of Mauer Der Toten.

Some much-needed balance changes saw sniper rifles and melee weapons improved, while zombie health was nerfed in high towers. A dynamic wall purchase mechanic has also been added, with wall weapons now increasing in weapon rarity as towers progress. Along with these significant balance changes, Treyarch is introducing a new Wonder weapon, perk, and piece of gear, with more PlayStation exclusive content also on the way. For the first time in a long time, the Zombies community has a lot of new content to explore.

The Mauer Der Toten map from season 4 of Reloaded and the CRBR-S magic weapon

black ops cold war season 4 reloaded update release date

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarThe biggest addition to Season 4 Reloaded is Mauer Der Toten himself. Located in Berlin, players fight through the city streets and the metro system that surround the Berlin Wall. Ziplines take them from tall buildings to the ground, while a new AI companion named Klaus fights alongside them as players struggle to survive. With new enemy types as well, the main gameplay loop of the map is a lot of fun.

Story-wise, players can expect to have a different voice guiding them through the main mission of the map. Instead of Weaver, Requiem agents will follow Kravchenko’s orders. After capturing Requiem after the Outbreak Season 4 quest ends, Omega’s boss forces them to murder a traitor named Valentina. The goal of the renegade Omega being to open up the Dark Aether and let a Nazi army return to Berlin, working with Omega certainly seems more appealing than the alternative.

As is the case with everything Call of Duty Zombie map, the magic weapon will surely play a big role in its popularity. Fortunately, Mauer Der Toten’s CRBR-S lives up to the hype, as it offers some fun ways to kill the walking dead. Pronounced Cerberus, the gun gets its name from the three cannons that players can use to level it up. In its default form, this is a fully automatic energy pistol with a companion sphere that will fire alongside the player. The CRBR-S also has a shotgun-like shape, research rocket shape, and laser shape. While some are arguably better than others, all are fun to try.

Reloaded Season 4 Kick Perk Mule and LT53 Kazimir Gear

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies’ new perk takes the form of Mule Kick, a classic drink that debuted in the first Covert operations Game. As expected, it retains its main functionality of allowing players to hold three weapons. Thanks to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarHowever, players can upgrade to the new version of Mule Kick to unlock additional abilities. These include entirely original boosts related to crafting as well as the return of the Mule Kick modifier from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Aspects of the Bandolier Bandit perk are also present.

Mule Kick benefit levels in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are the following.

  • Level 1: Crafted equipment will provide players with an additional piece of equipment if possible.
  • Level 2: All enemies have a small chance to drop ammo.
  • Level 3: Stowed weapons slowly reload ammunition from the stockpile.
  • Level 4: There is a 25% chance that unrecoverable equipment will return to the player after being thrown.
  • Level 5: The third weapons are recovered once Mule Kick redeemed.

Along with a new perk, Season 4 Reloaded adds an additional piece of gear for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players to use. This takes the form of the LT53 Kazimir tactical grenade. However, while it may have a new name, its functionality is exactly the same as the Gersh device that debuted on Ascension. Once players cast the Kazimir, it sucks up any nearby zombies inside, killing them instantly. Players will also be able to jump through the black hole on their own, teleporting to a random location somewhere on the map. While it is risky, the Kazimir should still serve as a solid jail break card for players who find themselves stuck in a bad position.

PlayStation Exclusive Zombies Season 4 Reloaded content and other additions

Season 4 continues the trend of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warexclusive content from PlayStation. As has been the case so far, this is entirely limited to the Onslaught game mode. Players will be able to play on a new Onslaught map in Season 4 Reloaded, with Multiplayer Rush joining the map lineup. While killing the walking dead inside a paintball arena will certainly be an interesting change, that’s not all that will happen to Zombies Onslaught in the mid-season update.

Along with a new weapon blueprint challenge, an Onslaught Zombie Mode variant called Onslaught Accelerated. This mode directly resolves complaints that Onslaught is too slow, as zombies will spawn endlessly. The Dark Aether Orb is in constant motion and killing enemies will only speed it up, ensuring players never stop moving during the Speed Attack. While this might not be as exciting as Mauer Der Toten, it does seem like a good bonus for PlayStation owners.

On the smaller side of things, the much underrated Dead Ops Arcade 3 will be getting a new playlist. First Person Solo Advanced Start allows players to play the first-person version of the arcade game on their own, retaining their progress when they reach a new location. With first person and advanced start being less difficult than regular Dead Ops, combining the two should make the experience the easiest to date. As such, Reunited with Fidolina may not be one of the Call of Dutythe most difficult trophies for much longer. A “Mama’s Armory Basket” drop has also been teased, although it is not known what it will do. New Zombies challenges and story information round out the long list of additions, ensuring there is plenty to do until the start of Season 5.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
